We are pleased to announce that STACI has opened a new factory in China - October, 2007
STACI has been in China for more than eleven years now and our business model has proved to offer our customers with significant value and benefit which has withstood the test of time. One can never be satisfied and accept status quo. We need to look to ways to add further value as well as benefit to both our current and future customers in the years ahead as well.
We are very excited to announce the opening of a new STACI owned Electronic Manufacturing Services facility to accommodate our ever growing customer base. This facility will be located in Dongkeng town in the Dongguan city, Guangdong Province. Operations will commence in the fourth quarter of this year. The operation will be a state-of-the-art EMS facility with approximately 60,000 square feet for manufacturing, value added assembly and total turn-key operations. Our complete Supply Chain Team will also be located in this new facility. This will allow us the ability to provide our customers with high quality assemblies.
Our intention will be to focus on mid manufacturing customers with moderate volume opportunities that align well with our manufacturing capabilities and expertise. We are positioned well to manage small to mid-market complex production run requirements within our Sister facility operations which are located in Lagrange, Ohio. Mass production requirements will be done within our China Operations.
Further to our commitment to advance our global service to our customers, we will be developing Customer Focused Teams, from different disciplines within the Manufacturing, Quality, Material Planning and Program Management areas to best serve our customers. These dedicated Teams will be aligned to serve specific customers and provide 7-24 operational support to ensure our collective success.
This operation will be supported by a Quality Operating Systems which will include: ISO 9000:2000 / Toyota Production System (TPS), ISO14004:2004 Environmental Management, OHSA18001:1999 Safety Management. It will be our intention to obtain TS16949:2002 Automotive Certification as scheduled for Q4 of 2008.
Over these years, STACI has developed an extremely strong core competency of strategic JV Partners within Southern China which provide high quality components within their specific areas of expertise: printed circuit boards, aluminum extruded heat sinks, sheet metal products, membrane switches / keypads, injection molded plastics, die cast products, cable assemblies and so on. We now intend to best leverage these long-standing relationships by offering our customers complete Electronic Manufacturing Assembly solutions.
To further compliment this change, we will be relocating our Hong Kong operations into a more suitable warehousing /logistics space to best accommodate the needs for our future EMS and Component requirements moving forward. This move will be completed in the October time frame as well.
