The Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, also referred to as Pb-free, originated with the European Union (EU). The RoHS Directive bans the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment sold within the EU after July 1, 2006. To date, there are six banned substances:  cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead, mercury, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). To simplify production efforts, most manufacturers have been transitioning their products over to RoHS compliant products, whether those products are sold in the EU or in other locations around the world. STACI has taken this regulation one step further. Not only can STACI manufacture and supply compliant components and products to clients all over the world, but STACI can also provide documentation that its materials are RoHS compliant.

STACI can also supply high Tg laminates that are capable of withstanding several cycles through the demanding reflow profiles associated with Pb-free processing.
• Molded plastics – STACI can supply plastic products halogen-free.
